Tips For Success!!

  • Start recording yourself about 3 weeks before you plan to make your final audition recording. You will be amazed what you hear on a recording! Beyond being a great practice tool, starting early will help you grow accustomed to working with a recording device... making the final recording session MUCH less stressful!

  • Ask friends and family to listen to you perform the pieces multiple times as you prepare them. This is especially helpful if you have other musician friends - even non-harpists! Use your resources!

  • Invest in a decent microphone. For iPhone: Shure MV88 available on Amazon for $148.59 - if you plan to record with your computer and need a USB mic: Blue Yeti available on Amazon for $129. Both of these microphones are EXCELLENT, user-friendly investments that you will continue to use long after the competition!

        • Although you will not be judged on the quality of your audio we all know how hard it is to listen to a distorted or fuzzy recording!

  • Set aside time on more than one day to record. Trust me. You'll thank me later.
